A spirit of Peony


Once upon a time there was a poor scholar.
He went to capital city for the imperial examinations
then he has no money to live at hotel
he found an old hut.
Nobody was inside only peony flowers...he helped to water the peony flowers and wait for the owner.
At night he saw one pretty girl at the window...he went to check but she disappeared.
The owner never came back and he helped water the penoy flowers for a few days and one day the girl came and said that she would like to be his wife.
She was very pretty and looks like those rich ladies, the scholar didnt acept her.

She liked him alot and was reluctant to leave, she did housework for the guy everyday but he still won't marry her. He scared the gap between them was very too big.
One day he scolded her and chased her away,
she was sad and she left... all the peony flowers withered.
The scholer was sad but he thought what he did was good for her.

He continued his way to capital where he met one gardener and recognised that he was selling the same type of peony as that in the hut
he asked the gardener about the name of the flower, and he realised that it was same with the girl's name which she told him before
he realised the girl was the spirit from the flower,
the spirit wanted to thank him so she would like to marry him but he did not know.
With full of regrets he went back to the hut but the withered flowers could not come to life again
in the end he missed her too much and he died of sadness = =
